"Elkdom Is Practiced, Not Preached"
Members,
I would like to start this article off with a heartfelt THANK-YOU to the membership
of Tampa Lodge 708,
for bestowing the honor of Exalted Ruler upon me for the 2008-2009 fraternal year. My
officers and I will do our best to make sure your decisions of electing us were
not in vain. As many of you know, your newly elected officers are newer members
who have accepted the challenge of the chairs with eagerness and vigor. We have
a lot of new ideas we will be trying to implement throughout the year, with endeavors
of making Tampa 708 stronger in membership and prominence throughout the community.
But remember this my members, we cannot succeed alone. Yet as a strong, cohesive
membership, we can attain complete success with all of our endeavors. The month
of April is already taking off successfully, with one of our first events being
Skid Row To Tent City, brought to you by Rita Smith and her committee. It is for
a wonderful cause, so please show your support by attending if you can. Also please
don't forget that the State Convention is in May, and the works are already in
progress. All of our newly elected officers are on this committee, with Leslie
Nikkenen as Chair, yet as I said earlier, we cannot do it alone. If you are interested
in helping, find one of your new officers and let them know, and they will be
happy to assist you in any way. I believe that this fraternal year will be an
awesome one, for the Lodge and for the membership. We have new faces appearing
and volunteering to help, and that brings a “breath of fresh air”,
for everyone to enjoy. I will leave it here with my motto:
